Blake's appt with Dr. Whisenant was this afternoon. As mentioned earlier, the PET scan showed that the cancer has raised it's ugly head again and his tumor marker from 2.8 to 3.8. Although still within normal range, it's higher then when he was diagnosed with this dreaded disease!
Dr. Whisenant would like to have it "on the run" before Blake has CRS/HIPEC surgery at UCSD. He was going to check with Dr. Lowy to see if he agreed. We heard back from Dr. Whisenant (@7pm!) Dr. Lowy agrees it's a good idea to have Blake start chemo (Folfiri) for 2 months to make certain he's going to have a positive response, then CRS/HIPEC followed by 4 months (or so) of the same chemo.
We sure have some great docs - even though Blake has to start chemo next week.... :(

I've been wondering what your decision was with regards to HIPEC. I guess this answers it. Best to you on this difficult road...You have taken the road of hope.
