Palliative doc

Blake saw the palliative doc today. It was pretty deep. Some of it was really good – she checked Blake over really well. She checked him physically as well as inquired about his mental well being.

She didn’t like the sound of his lungs (cough) so they sent him for a chest x-ray (we should have the results today.) I think she’s thinking he might have walking pneumonia. She also got into advanced directives, etc. She wants to make sure we’re aware that Utah will only accept a certain format when it comes to a living will. I felt bad, I could NOT turn off the tears. I tried so hard. I wasn’t sobbing, the tears were just pouring down my face! UGH! I guess it’s understandable.

MOST importantly, she did not make us feel that some timeframe had been triggered. She talked positively about the benefits of the chemo & wants Blake to understand that it does not have to be bad.

P.S. chest scan is clear.
P.P.S. This can be beat. Just watch him.
